Site search

Searching for the right Northwoods site.

The long-term goal is a permanent astronomy-focused center. We are actively looking for a Northwoods site that fits the sky, the land, the roads, the neighbors, and the community.

What makes a good site?

Dark skies are important, but they are not the only requirement.

Sky and visibility

Good dark-sky potential, safe observing areas, low glare, and reasonable horizon access.

Access and safety

Road access, parking potential, emergency access, winter considerations, and safe public circulation.

Community fit

A location that respects neighbors, land character, wildlife, local plans, and future community use.

Site suggestions welcome

Local introductions matter.

We welcome site suggestions, land leads, partner-location ideas, and introductions to people or organizations who may know of an appropriate location.
