46 North is actively searching for the right Northwoods site for a future astronomy-focused facility. At the same time, we are building school, community, and partner relationships and planning future mobile or partner-hosted astronomy activities.
What is being built
We are building support, clarifying programs, developing youth astronomy opportunities, identifying partners, and preparing for safe mobile or partner-hosted programming.
Future goal
A permanent astronomy-focused center in the Northwoods, developed after the right site, funding, permissions, staffing, safety planning, and community support come together.

- Future facility componentsObserving areas, education space, support infrastructure, and larger telescope equipment are long-term facility goals, not public operations today.

Public outreach
We are explaining the project in plain English and gathering feedback from local residents, teachers, astronomy groups, and potential partners.
School and student outreach
We are identifying educators and students who may be interested in youth astronomy and science opportunities through the Aquila Team pathway.
Community support building
We are looking for introductions, letters of interest, local advice, land/site leads, volunteer support, donated goods or services, and funding leads.
Event planning groundwork
Mobile or partner-hosted programs are being considered, but only after permissions, safety, logistics, insurance, staffing, and site details are complete.
